Some Things You Can't Learn in a Classroom.
There's a certain kind of person who wakes up before they have to. Who does the work before anyone's watching. Who doesn't need a reason to push harder — it's just how they're wired.
That's the kind of people who built BAKED.
Another Life
Before there was a brand, before there was a can, before there was a company — there was a different kind of mission.
One of our founders served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, one of the most storied units in the United States Army. He deployed. Multiple times. To multiple places. He went on to serve with other units — teams he's humbled to have been a part of and grateful to have learned from.
He doesn't talk about it much. That's not the point of this post.
The point is what that life leaves behind when it's over — not the stories, but the wiring. The baseline. The part of you that doesn't know how to quit.
What Service Gives You
It gives you discipline that doesn't feel like discipline anymore — it just feels like Tuesday. It gives you the ability to take direction, implement it fast, and course-correct without ego. It gives you teammates who hold you to a standard, and it teaches you to hold yourself to one even when no one's looking.
It also gives you an appreciation for what matters. For clarity. For cutting through noise and getting to the thing that actually needs doing.
That's part of the foundation BAKED was built on. But only part of it.
A Team Worth Building With
BAKED didn't get built alone. It got built with partners — people who brought their own expertise, their own grind, and their own standards to the table. People who push back when it matters and show up when it counts.
That's the real story. Not one person's background, but what happens when the right people find each other and decide to build something worth building. The discipline from one corner. The vision from another. The craft, the relationships, the hustle — all of it, together.
We seek guidance from people who know more than us. We implement that advice. We hold each other accountable. And we move toward the best possible outcome for the product, the brand, and the people who drink it.
Grateful to Be Here
There's real gratitude in this — for the experiences that shaped the perspective, for the partners who make it real every day, and for being in a position to build something from scratch in a country that makes that possible.
BAKED is, in a lot of ways, an expression of that gratitude. A love letter to the American work ethic. To the idea that if you show up every day and do the thing right, something real gets built.
We're still building. Every single day. This is what it tastes like so far.
